Max’s Place @ Greenhills
Honouring the work of Rotarian PP Max Hill OAM MPHF by PP Harold Small MPHF, Canberra East

On Sunday 27 March 2022 members of the Rotary Club of Canberra East, Rotarians, Family, and Friends gathered to unveil a plaque provided by Canberra East at the Greenhills Centre. The plaque titled “Max’s Place” acknowledges Max Hill’s tremendous contribution to Greenhills and the community through Rotary.

The memorial site features new seating for guests to meet, take group photos, hold briefings or simply enjoy the view! The day took on special meaning as Sunday was Max Hill's birthday (he passed away last year and would have been 103) and the new seating is located on the spot where he sat to have lunch and look out over the original buildings since destroyed in the 2003 bushfires.

The occasion was an opportunity for Canberra East to honour Max’s long serving participation in Club activities and to acknowledge Max's vision for Greenhills.
