Welcome to the DisTec20 Homepage
Welcome to the DisTec20 website.  This page is the main resource for all information relating to the District 9700 Technology Training Seminar in Young on April 19th.  The day starts at 10 am and goes till  4 pm.  The address is Young Shire Council, 189 Boorowa Street, Young.   Morning tea and lunch is included.

The training is targeted at club Presidents and Secretaries, however all Rotarians are welcomed. There is a very limited number of places available.   50 Rotarians is the maximum we can train.   Since we are attempting to allocate a certain number of seats to each district, and at this time we do not know how the take up will go in each district, we are setting a cut off date of April 1st  to enable us to allocate the positions equitably.  So you are advised to register as soon as possible. The day is funded by district 9700, however we are reserving 25 places for Rotarians from District 9710.

We will provide training in beginning, intermediate and advanced ClubRunner.  In addition to this and perhaps more important, we will be training 9710 members  in the key areas of our integration into the new District 9705.  The main objective is to train the Secretaries/Executive Secretaries and club IT specialists to the extent that every 9710 club brought into 9705 will be linked correctly with Rotary international.

In addition to ClubRunner training, we will be using valuable software tools that will advance your I.T. skills.  A sample of the sessions include:
  • Photo and graphics editing in the free powerful software program Gimp
  • Video Conferencing using Zoom
  • Taking photos with your smartphone and uploading to Facebook in minutes

DisTec19 is over and we had over 50 great students, helpers and support persons.  After some teething problems with circuit breakers and computer hardware issues, the day settled into a relaxing learning experience with outstanding food from Ros and her staff.  If you wanted to download some of the great showbag files, they are in the download box on your left.  Email Paul if you have any followup questions or need anything else.
Class of 2019

On April 28, 2019 approximately 55 students  and Presenters came together for the second annual District Technology Seminar.  The group included 12 students from District 9710 including the District Governor Margaret Hassel.  It was a fun day filled with challenges including power outages, circuit breakers, computer hardware glitches and a few other but, the end rusults were spot on.  Lots of learning took place and new friends made and a great goofy photo of everyone acting silly was taken.  See the photo below:
