This great youth program for year 9 & 10 students was once again hosted by the Wollundry club in Wagga Wagga. As usual the weekend was a huge success with 65 students from across the District participating. This program helps students find their way in the world and help them make new friends for life. They develop confidence and self-esteem in a non-discriminatory environment.
Wollundry have successfully conducted this program for our District for 10 years and have enjoyed the task and are willing to go on next year, however believe that it should be shared around the district and have requested I find another club to come on board with a view to taking the lead role. This I think is only fair and I am disappointed that another club has not jumped at the opportunity to take on a successful youth program. We can’t go on saying we are great at youth training and development if we are not willing to roll up our sleeves and get involved. Where do you think our new members are going to come from if we have no engagement with young people and their parents?
Wollundry Rotary Club are to be congratulated on their commitment to our youth.
Report from Henty RC Bulletin: Henty participants were Hayden, Madeline, Nessa and Emily.
The girls and Hayden had a great time with motivational speakers and team building activities. They were also involved in a drama workshop, mini Olympics, and had speakers from Youth Exchange and NRMA. They agreed RYPEN was beneficial, the best thing was food, and the worst was that it was not long enough.
