Wagga Wagga Police Officer of the Year Award

The Rotary Club of Wagga Wagga Sunrise recently organised the first Police Officer of the Year awards for the Wagga Wagga Local Area Command.
This was an opportunity for members of the public to acknowledge outstanding acts of courtesy, kindness, understanding, compassion, courage, and devotion to duty by any member, uniform, plain clothes, office staff or volunteer of the NSW Police Force operating in the Wagga Wagga Local Area Command.
Superintendent Bob Noble strongly supported the awards and Wagga Sunrise Club received 75 nominations for 53 officers from Lockhart, Coolamon, Junee, Temora and Wagga Wagga.
Six individuals were formally recognised at the presentation dinner at the Wagga RSL Club which drew a crowd of 140.
District Governor, David Kennedy attended the evening.
President of Wagga Sunrise Club, Jo Wilson, made the major award to Constable Madonna Reardon who worked in the domestic violence unit. Ms Reardon will progress to the state awards later in the year.
LAC executive officer, Kristy-Lee Holmes, Senior Constable Mathew Owen, Senior Constable Brad Hallam , Constable Brayden Sharrock and volunteer Ray Pelletier were also recognised.
The evening was compared by PP Darren Verus and was well supported by sponsors, Rotarians and the Police Force.
