The Rotary Foundation Trustees and Rotary International Board of Directors have added a new area of focus: the environment - June 2020
Environmental Sustainability Events & NEWS
The District is looking for interested Rotarians and Rotaractors who would like to be involved in the new and exciting development of the D9705 Supporting the Environment team. The team aims to support and encourage Clubs to develop and conduct projects which will support their local communities through improvements to their local (and global) environment. If you  are interested please contact Team leader/Chair David  (see box on the left).

In order to progress this the Team is working with the Area Governors to collect resources from Clubs by way of information about projects the clubs have carried out over time - a Library of Projects. This Library will then provide other Clubs with information and contacts so we can go into a project having learnt from the experience of others. Your club can start to contribute by downloading the Project Library Form from the box on the right

Next Climate & Peace Webinar 10th August 6pm (AEST)

Presented by the Rotary Clubs of Sydney

"Record heat waves, fires and floods in the Northern Hemisphere this summer have turned the spotlight from COVID back to climate. So how can we retain peace and security as the weather worsens and the sea levels threaten mass migration?"

The next Climate & Peace Webinar on Tuesday August 10th, at 6pm addresses the security question head-on. The speakers include Cheryl Durrant, former head of Australia’s Defence Force planning, Prof Lachlan Blackhall, an expert on dispatchable energy and Anika Molesworth, a young firebrand primary producer. So, another terrific line-up, to help us understand what we can do about this crisis.
