Congratulations to Rob Uhl PHF Rotary District Governor Nominee Delegate (2024-25)

Rob has been an active Rotarian since joining the Rotary Club of Mayfield in 1997. She has vast experience at the Club, District and International levels within Rotary. She has attended Rotary International conferences and her work with Rotary Youth Exchange has enabled her to make international connections that benefit fellow Rotarians including hosting the RI President in our club meeting in 2020.

Members of District 9705 are fortunate to have such an outstanding and experienced Rotarian as the 2024-25 District Governor.

Whilst travelling around Australia for 6 years, she visited many Rotary Clubs in diverse towns such as, Alice Springs and Geraldton and was fortunate enough to go beyond Australia to visit clubs on Norfolk Island and Queenstown in New Zealand. This provided her with the opportunity to observe the great range of Rotary’s activities, meet with different people who had vastly different Rotary experiences. She says of this experience, “I realised, in spite of these differences; we all were members of Rotary who had the same focus; Service above Self”.

In 2017, Rob was appointed District Chair of the D9710 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee and agreed to continue as Chair to assist in the merger of the two committees from D9700 and D9710 to form D9705. Rob will remain Chair until 2022. At the same time as she becomes the District Governor Nominee, she has also agreed to be the District Secretary from July when Geraldine Rurenga is the District Governor.

In Youth Exchange 2020 was an emotional time as most students see Safari as a highlight of their exchange year and Rob had to deal with their disappointment in her role as Chair when the Safari was cancelled due to Covid19. There were further disruptions caused by the pandemic both for onshore and offshore students and Rob’s extensive knowledge, contacts and abilities were needed to organise the travel of the homecoming students and their quarantine in accordance with government directives.

Members of District 9705 are fortunate to have such an outstanding and experienced Rotarian as the 2024-25 District Governor.
